you can never get thru any telephone line to talk to anyone, just put on hold until you hang up
I'm experiencering the same as these folks. Two days I've tried to get thru to cancel paper before they bill me again tomarrow.. No getting thru to speak to someone at all. I even called the corporate office to talk to Sue Clark-Johnson the chairman of the board for Arizona Republic and they wouldn't allow me to talk to her! I'm going to have my bank block any attempts to charge my acct. On hold an hour for circulation dept. finally hung up!
What are you folks thinking...putting the obit. In the sport section.....bad move....don't want to see dead people when I'm reading bout my favorite sports......soon to be a non subscriber
Some idiot man was in front of Fry's selling subscriptions for$ 6.00 a month subscription (2 times week)--HAD TO KEEP IT FOR TWO MONTHS ONLY GOOD FOR SIX MONTHS. We signed up and got charged 17.48 for the first month cancelling if I can get anyone on the phone been on hold 27 minutes so far.
I called today because of an over-charge. What I signed up for was $4.29. What I got charged the second month $12.09. The reason --- I am required to get a premium edition, which is $1.00 a month more, plus the holiday edition, which is $5.00. I knew there was an extra charge for the holiday edition, but thought it would be about $1.00 extra. Considering I don't really care about the ads because they come in my email in-box, I don't want it. Also, aren't the companies placing the ads paying a pretty penny just to have the ad in the paper? Seems the AZ Republic is making out all over the place!
So I told the customer representative not to deliver tomorrow's paper. She said I would still be billed for it. I asked what the premium edition is (which is also required) and she said it is the colored magazine type addition to the newspaper once a month. This month is photography, and is full of colored photographs. Do not care about it....don't want it. But apparently, have to pay.
All these extra charges with no option. They should tell you up front EXACTLY what all the charges are.
So now, I'm waiting for a call back, which will be anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 hour 3 minutes because their phones are so busy. Gee, I wonder why. Yesterday the wait time to even talk to anyone was 1 hour 3 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes.
Apparently, their customer service is not too great, to put it mildly.
I received my sunday paper but t was missing the front two sections and the sports. This is not the first time this has happened and it appears that customer satisfaction is non-existant. If I have another problem I will cancel my subscription and never ever subscribe again. I have given the Az.Republic too many chances already....
Would really like to support the Arizona Republic but we will cancel as soon as we can get someone to answer while I sit on hold. We have had numerous account issues and after a week we finally received a return call. The young lady that called made it very clear that she did not care if we cancelled our subscription. But of course she could not handle that so she transferred me:- to the "hold" line. I am always hearing that printed newspapers are a dying breed. I guess the AZ Republic has an abundance subscribers.
I am tired of sitting on hold and talking to customer service representatives and a month and a half ago I canceled the AZ Republic paper, I do not get the paper but you are charging my account, this is illegal. You are still taking 10.81 this month and last month, stop taking money when I have already canceled the paper. This is ridiculous and malicious behavior on behalf of your representatives and managers that I have spoken to. Daniel the supervisor notified me on 10/20/2016 that the money would be refunded promptly which is was not, the associate told me 5-10 days which is a monstrosity when it was canceled a month and a half ago. You should not take money from peoples account this is stealing. I am notifying my bank if this money is not refunded in full by 10/24/2016. I will file a complaint as well with the BBB and other entities.
I am tired of paying for somet5hing that I canceled a month and a half ago, speaking to many different customer service representatives and managers and still can not get your company to stop taking money out of my account, just so you know this is illegal.
This is a trash rag. Now that they have endorsed Hillary and committed liable against Donald Trump on Channel 8's Horizon episode that aired on the evening of 9/30/16, I don't expect them to stay in business for much longer due to people canceling their subscriptions.
We are very disappointed in the service received by the Arizona Republic. My husband is a subscriber and we have give my Dad a winter visitor a subscription for the past several years. Yesterday we call to begin my Dad delivery we asked to have the paper delivered beginning today Dec 18 til the end of April. When we spoke to the agent we do not remember being advised the service was non refundable a concept we find difficult to swallow. When we called today regarding the bill of 190.75 the charge did not add up to the 36.00 monthly charge which we believed to be for 4 months. The agent we got on the phone today advised we could get the paper for 27.50 per month plus a prorated rate for the balance of Dec which was approximately 7.00 bringing the estimated total to approximately 120.00 MUCHLESS then the 190.75 we had been billed. She then advise us the 190.75 was non refundable. When we asked to speak to a supervisor we were advised she had to listen to the tape of our original recording. We were not asking to cancel the delivery but to have the service adjusted to reflect the correct time frame and at the best possible rate. What was most upsetting is the supervisor Bonnie's stating she could do nothing until Tuesday. Do they have to listen to all calls before being able to help a customer. If they can not handle a simple credit adjustment how do they handle real issues? The AZ Republic needs to give their employees the ability to deal with customer request and give immediate help. We have already shared our story with friends and family. As a long time subscriber we are very disappointed. We would like someone with the ability to help us to provide us with a full refund.
